Student Counseling Center


Mission: The mission of El Centro College Student Counseling Center (SCC) supports the mission of the college by providing students with counseling services that allow them to improve and maintain well-being while pursuing their educational goals.

Student Counseling Center Goals
 
  • To provide ECC students with counseling and/or affordable and available referrals for counseling in the community.
  • To help keep the ECC community safe from mental health related violence by providing consultation and crisis services for students as warranted.
  • To support the learning and retention of students through appropriate treatment and/or mental health related referrals.
  • To focus on areas of prevention on campus through educational programs and communication related to mental health awareness.
 
Population Served: The Student Counseling Center offers free services to students who are currently enrolled in credit and non-credit classes at ECC. 
 
Students often visit the Student Counseling Center for the following reasons:
  • Stress/anxiety
  • Depression/Sadness
  • Recent loss of a loved one
  • Difficulty balancing responsibilities (family, school, job, etc.)
  • Loneliness
  • Confidence concerns
  • Needing some extra emotional support
 
Hours of Operation
Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. 
 
Sessions are scheduled by appointment through email or telephone.

Please Note
  • The Student Counseling Center does not provide walk-in therapy sessions, except in the case of crises/emergencies. 
  • The Student Counseling Center does not provide any after-hours services.
