Class Cancellations
El Centro College reserves the right to make administrative changes to any item in this schedule. The college may discontinue a class at any time if attendance fails to meet expected levels. Efforts will be made to telephone the students before the first day of a course that is being cancelled.

Free DART Pass
Free DART passes are available to non-credit students enrolled in at least 96 contact hours in a single quarter, 48 hours in the summer. The DART Rail station near El Centro is West End Station.

Refund Policy

Students who submit a request for withdrawal, either written or verbal, from a continuing education course will be refunded for tuition and mandatory fees according to the following refund schedule:
  • Before the first day of the course: 100%
  • During the first two class days of the course: 80%
  • After the second class day of the course: none

Should the college cancel the class, a 100% refund will be issued. Refunds may take up to 30 days to process. Continuing Education/Workforce Training reserves the right to change instructors after the schedule is printed. Such changes are not grounds for a refund. Enrollment in a series constitutes one class. Refund checks are mailed to students at the address on file in the Accounting Services office. Students who pay by credit card will have their accounts credited.

Student Identification Cards
To receive an El Centro College Student ID card you must be enrolled in credit and/or non-credit classes and present your paid tuition receipt* and a form of photo identification. The Student ID Card is FREE. There is a $10 replacement cost for subsequent cards. Students will have one ID card to use throughout their enrollment at El Centro College. Third Attempt Tuition Policy

Effective for Fall Semester 2005,a higher tuition rate to students registering the third or subsequent time for a course. All third and subsequent attempts of the majority of credit and Continuing Education/Workforce Training courses will result in higher tuition to be charged.  Developmental Studies and some other courses will not be charged a higher tuition rate.  Third attempts include courses taken at any of the Dallas County Community Colleges since the Fall 2002 semester.
