Getting Started


Get started with your Education here at El Centro College!

 
 

Apply:

Apply to the college.
 

Submit Documents:

Submit high school/college transcripts and *meningitis vaccination documentation.

Financial Aid:

Submit a financial aid application as soon as possible. *Current application 2016-2017/2017-2018*.
  1. Visit the First Year Experience & Retention Services Office for information on Pre-Assessment and the TSI Assessment (please bring your high school transcript so we can determine if you need to take the TSI assessment)
  2. Complete the TSI Assessment if necessary
  3. Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor for a New Student Prep Session
  4. Sign up for and attend New Student Orientation. You will register for courses at New Student Orientation

  3. Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor for a New Student Prep Session
  4. Sign up for and attend New Student Orientation. You will register for courses at New Student Orientation

  3. Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor for a New Student Prep Session
  4. Pick up your registration Packet at the Office of Student Veteran Services
  5. Sign up for and attend New Student Orientation. You will register for courses at New Student Orientation
  6. After registering for courses, submit VA documentation to the Office of Student Veteran Services
  1. Application for International Student Admission
  2. Copy of identification page of passport (if available)
  3. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

The Multicultural Center provides admission, advisement, assessment, degree planning, and transfer information for all international and English as a second-language students. We encourage you to contact The Multicultural Center for additional information and guidance while attending our college.

  1. Visit the Academic Advising Office with college transcript/proof of college credit earned
  2. Complete the TSI Assessment if necessary
  3. Register for courses with an Academic Advisor
  4. Recommended: Attend Transfer Orientation to learn more about the college and what we have to offer

Meeting with an Academic Advisor is the best way to get the enrollment process started and stay on track towards your goals. There are two ways to meet with an Academic Advisor:

Appointments
 
  • You will need to meet with your assigned advisor two times during the semester.
  • Long- term educational planning discussed
  • Test Interpretation/New Student Prep Session.
  • Little to no wait
  • 30 minutes or more
