Academic Advising

Mission Statement:

The mission of El Centro College Academic Advising Office is to foster successful teaching and learning experiences. Academic Advising Engages Students in developing academic pathways and educational plans for life-long learning.

Whether your goal is to transfer to a university or obtain the skills that you need to enter the workforce directly from El Centro, academic advisors are trained and ready to help your build a plan for accomplishing your educational goals. The academic advisors will:

  • Review placement scores and determine course placement.
  • Guide students in understanding degree and prerequisite requirements for their selected program of study.
  • Provide information as it relates to academic policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Refer students to other campus resources to help them succeed in the classroom
  • Help students complete official degree plan paperwork and apply for graduation.
  • Guide students in discovering their career goals.
  • Assist students with time management skills. 

We believe that students are responsible for making their own decisions about career and academic goals and want student’s to know that the Academic Advising Staff is here to support you along the way.

 Winter & Spring 2017 Registration Dates:
  • Priority Registration for Winter and Spring Opens November 22 (current students)
  • Regular Registration for Winter and Spring Opens November 28 (new and returning students)

Readmission Petition Process

Students who have been suspended or dismissed from El Centro College for academic reasons and wish to be readmitted to must complete the readmission petition process. If suspended you must wait a semester and if dismissed you must wait a full year to petition.  Click here to start the petition process.
